Communication and identity for a New Music festival that breaks up the traditional concert situation by blurring the boundaries between the musicians and the audience.
By removing the stages and spreading the musicians across the concert halls, the ECLAT Festival 2024 invited its audience to freely move around and decide for themselves when and where they wanted to experience certain sounds, voices, and instruments. The change in the spatial and visual perception of the music was conceptualized under the theme “Shifting Perspectives” and is transferred to the design by scaling, mirroring, and blurring letters.
On printed matter, parts of the typography dissolve into a dotted grid that spreads out around the letters, like the audience around the musicians in the physical space of the concert.
The festival website reacts to mouse movements, which further emphasizes the interactive conceptual approach, and changes not only the sizes of the images but also the typography and the degree of blurring, depending on the position of the letters.
